Preparing a loan enquiry
Prepare a loan enquiry by explaining the purpose, your own contribution and how you would repay when income changes.
- 01
Explain what the money will do
List the equipment, stock or activity you want to support, with quantities and costs. Separate start-up investment from everyday working cash.
- 02
Show what you already have
Record your own funds, equipment, stock and expected receipts. Income and expense records help the SACCO discuss an enquiry using evidence.
- 03
Test repayment capacity
Test a month with lower income, a late-paying customer or a smaller harvest. Include household needs, other commitments and the full cost of credit.
- 04
Request written terms
Ask about amount, schedule, security or co-signers, charges and the consequences of late payment. An enquiry does not mean credit is approved.
