    Agree the rules

    Record the goal, each person’s contribution, due dates and the rules for leaving. Agree how late contributions and disagreements are handled.

    Name the representatives

    Document representatives, authorised signatories and how decisions are made. More than one person should be able to review all receipts and payments.

    Reconcile the records regularly

    Compare contribution records, cash held and account statements. Explain differences to members and correct errors promptly.

    Ask about group services

    Ask the SACCO about group documents, signing arrangements, charges and access to statements. Understand the implications before using a personal account for group funds.
